Masjid at-Tawbah, Tabuk

In Tabuk, far north, the mosque traditionally said to stand where the Prophet ﷺ prayed on the expedition of Tabuk in 9 AH.

History and Seerah

Tabuk was the Prophet's last expedition, in the heat of 9 AH. Mu'adh ibn Jabal reported that on the way he joined Dhuhr with Asr and Maghrib with Isha, and said: "Tomorrow, if Allah wills, you will reach the spring of Tabuk" (Muslim 706). The story of the three who stayed behind and whose repentance was accepted is in Surah at-Tawbah (9:118). The castle of Tabuk stands next to the mosque.
