Visiting Madinah · 6 steps
Visiting Madinah and the Prophet’s Mosque
Visiting Madinah is not part of Hajj or Umrah, but praying in the Prophet's Mosque carries great reward.
Step 1 of 6
Enter the Prophet's Mosque
Enter with your right foot, say the dua for entering the mosque, and pray two rak'ah.
Step 2 of 6
The Rawdah
Book a time in the Nusuk app first. Men and women have separate times. Pray calmly and leave space for others.
Step 3 of 6
Greeting the Prophet ﷺ
Stand with respect and a low voice and say: "As-salamu 'alayka ya Rasulallah." Then step a little to the right and greet Abu Bakr, then Umar, may Allah be pleased with them. Face the Qibla when you make dua.
Step 4 of 6
Jannat al-Baqi
Visit the cemetery beside the mosque and say the greeting for the people of the graves.
Step 5 of 6
Masjid Quba
Make wudu where you are staying, then go and pray two rak'ah: the reward is like an Umrah (Ibn Majah 1412). The Prophet ﷺ visited Quba every Saturday (Bukhari 1193).
Step 6 of 6
Uhud and its martyrs
Visit the martyrs of Uhud, greet them, and make dua for them.
