Masjid al-Rayah (Mosque of the Banner)

Located on Mount Dhubab. By tradition, the Prophet ﷺ pitched his tent here to watch over the digging of the trench.

History and Seerah

When the allied tribes besieged Madinah, the Prophet ﷺ is reported to have camped on this high ground to watch the digging and the enemy. The mosque is said to have been first built in the time of Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz.
