Qarn al-Manazil (al-Sayl al-Kabir)

Miqat for people coming from Najd and Ta'if.

History and Seerah

Qarn al-Manazil (As-Sayl al-Kabir), the designated Miqat for pilgrims arriving from Najd (Riyadh), the eastern provinces of Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf States. On the day of Ta'if the Prophet ﷺ said he walked on in grief and did not recover until he was at Qarn al-Tha'alib, where Jibril and the angel of the mountains came to him; he chose mercy for his people, hoping their descendants would worship Allah alone (Bukhari 3231). Qarn al-Tha'alib is usually identified with Qarn al-Manazil.
